We recommend Canon printers and scanners for the reliability, build quality, and overall value for money. Canon has been involved with laser printing since the very beginning and invented the first of what we might now call a desktop laser printer. Most early desktop lasers actually used Canon engines(including many early HP models) and Canon still leads the way in producing reliable and cost effective mono and colour laser printers, and the software to go with them. Canon (along with Epson & HP) was a major force in the development and adoption of inkjet printers and, in line with its photographic background, has always placed a major emphasis on print and image quality.
Canon's scanners, too, have always been of an exceptional quality and have ranged from handy portable scanners right up to A3 networkable machines.
Canon MFD (Multi Function Devices)
Recent developments have seen the technologies combining to produce "Multi Function Devices", or "all in one" machines. These usually consist of a scanner mounted above a printer; the printer can still be used as a printer and the scanner can be used as a scanner, but the combination can now also be used as a copier and as a fax machine in certain instances.
